This book by Tricia Redeker Hepner is an ethnographic and creative account of the Eritrean independence movement and nation-building project after 1991. It looks at how Eritrean refugees and exiles in the U.S. and nationalist guerrilla fighters in the Horn of Africa were drawn together around the political agenda of Eritrean independence from Ethiopia between 1961 and 1991.
