Never Kneel Down
Never Kneel Down by James Firebrace with Stuart Holland MP
This book is about the war in Eritrea, which has been going on for 24 years, resulting in many deaths, disabilities, and refugees. Over a third of Eritreans face starvation as the war fuels famine. The Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF) was winning major victories, which would be a turning point. Meanwhile, Ethiopia was spending over a third of its poor budget on its army. The book is by James Firebrace and Stuart Holland MP, based on their visit to Eritrea. The EPLF was not only fighting for Eritrea’s self-determination but also to overcome poverty, famine and oppression through new development models with popular participation. This includes land redistribution, reforms for women’s rights, and education and health care programs.
Preface by Neil Kinnock MP with a new introduction by Dan Connell
